Security Agent Beheaded While Trying to Arrest Cattle Rustler in Taraba

On Tuesday, an unidentified security man was beheaded while attempting to apprehend suspected cattle rustlers at Taraba State’s Iware International livestock market.

The security guard, who was clad in a mufti, allegedly entered the market and sought to apprehend some suspected cattle rustlers, according to Daily Trust.

According to reports, several security agents working on a tip entered the market early in the morning to apprehend rustlers who brought cows for sale in the market.

According to a source, one of the mufti security agents attempted to apprehend one of the cattle rustlers but was beheaded by one of the marauders.

The cattle market, which is part of the Iware market, was likewise abandoned, according to the source, and the suspected livestock rustlers had escaped.

At the time of reporting this report, the body of the beheaded security agent was still lying within the cattle market, with the entire market empty and several vendors abandoning their goods.

“News filtered around the market that armed kidnappers had entered the cattle market and were attacking people,” the source said. “As a result, traders were forced to park their wares while others abandoned their wares.”

The spokesperson of Taraba Police Command, DSP Usman Abdullahi confirmed the incident but said the person who was beheaded is not a police man.
