Road Rage: Scott Iguma calls out SUV driver for assaulting Lagos bus driver with pestle

Nigerian activist Scott Iguma has urged authorities to examine a troubling road rage incident that allegedly occurred along Falomo in Lagos.

In a video circulating online, Iguma describes how an SUV driver allegedly beat a commercial bus driver after a roadside altercation.

According to his story, the confrontation began when the SUV driver attempted to pass the bus, but the bus driver refused to yield. Both vehicles reportedly continued driving without colliding.

The situation deteriorated when the SUV driver allegedly drove ahead, came to a halt, and challenged the bus driver.

Iguma alleged the man took a pestle-like device from his car and used it to smash the bus window, injuring a few passengers.

He further claimed that the driver physically attacked and dragged the bus driver throughout the dispute before bystanders stepped in.

Iguma questioned why such an object was in the vehicle and described the encounter as highly disturbing.

He further added that the vehicle’s plate number was tracked to Zenith Bank, and reports indicate that the car is registered in the bank’s name.

However, he noted that the institution is not always implicated in the driver’s behaviour.

Some injured passengers apparently went to the bank’s offices to verify ownership information, although it’s unclear whether the driver is directly linked with the company.

Iguma urged the Lagos State Police Command and the Lagos State Rapid Response Squad to thoroughly investigate the event and ensure accountability. He also called for enhanced CCTV surveillance on Lagos roadways to help dissuade and document such incidents.
