Prophet who vowed to raise Toluwanisings from dead reportedly arrested, wife cries out

TikTok prophet Woli Arugbo Ojo has reportedly been arrested in Ibadan over his claim that he would bring late gospel singer Toluwani back to life.

The cleric was said to have been taken into custody on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, after the singer’s personal assistant reportedly filed a complaint against him over allegations connecting him to the singer’s death.

Following the incident, the prophet’s wife appealed to Nigerians at home and in the diaspora to intervene, saying she had no idea where her husband was being held.

In a video posted on the prophet’s TikTok page on Wednesday, October 28, she pleaded for help over his reported arrest.

She claimed her husband was picked up after the singer’s personal assistant reported him to the police.

The woman said she had been unable to confirm his whereabouts and urged Nigerians both in the country and abroad to step in.

She also insisted that the prophet made his controversial remarks because he believed he was following divine instruction.

His reported arrest came after his public comments about Toluwani’s death and his prediction that the late singer would rise again.

Reports also indicate that the singer’s personal assistant was unhappy with allegations the cleric allegedly made against him regarding the death.

The police were said to have asked the prophet to back up his claims with evidence.

However, as of the time of reporting, the authorities had not publicly confirmed the arrest or issued an official statement on the allegations.

Toluwani, whose real name was Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, died on October 14, 2026, after reportedly collapsing at his home in Ibadan.

After his death, his personal assistant alleged that some hospitals refused to offer emergency treatment when the singer was brought to them.

The circumstances surrounding the gospel singer’s death have continued to spark debate on social media, alongside family disagreements over his burial arrangements.

The controversy has also drawn in several gospel entertainers following the spread of unverified allegations online.

Gospel singer Tope Alabi, comedian Woli Agba, and Dele Omo Woli have reportedly threatened legal action against an individual identified as Pastor Tayo Ministries over social media posts allegedly linking them to the singer’s death.

Meanwhile, the reported arrest of Woli Arugbo Ojo has added a fresh twist to the ongoing controversy.

As of the time of this report, the police had yet to publicly confirm the prophet’s reported arrest or his wife’s claims about his whereabouts.
