The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has announced another breakthrough in its ongoing operations against k!dnapping and banditry within the Federal Capital Territory.
Speaking at a press briefing in Abuja, the FCT Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Sanusi, said that following an anti-k!dnapping and rescue operation carried out on June 9 in the Paze–Byazhin area, four suspects were arrested.
The suspects were identified as Yahaya Abdullahi, Muhammed Yunusa, Hauwa Shafiu, and Shamsudeen Mustapha.
According to him, preliminary investigations suggest that the suspects are part of a cr!minal network involved in k!dnapping and baπditry activities within and around the FCT.
He further stated that one of the suspects, Hauwa Shafiu, who allegedly served as a logistics supplier and cook for the gaπg and their hostages, was heavily pregnant at the time of arrest and later delivered a baby while in police custody. He added that both mother and child received medical care.
Items recovered from the suspects reportedly include four motorcycles, thirty-one tablets of 500mg tramadol, ten tablets of 50mg tramadol, ₦320,000 cash, five mobile phones, one POS machine, and cooking utensils.
