Controversial Nigerian singer, Portable, has revealed why he wants veteran street-pop star Terry G as his next opponent in a celebrity boxing match, saying the fight would help revive the older singer’s career and put him back in the spotlight.
The outspoken singer made the remarks during an appearance on Channels Television’s Rubbin’ Minds programme on Sunday, where he spoke about his growing interest in celebrity boxing and the opponents he hopes to face next.
Portable’s comments have since generated reactions on social media, with many fans expressing surprise that he chose Terry G instead of some of the other celebrities he has publicly clashed with in recent years.
During the interview, the programme’s host asked Portable to mention any celebrity he would like to face in a boxing ring.
Without hesitation, the singer named Terry G as his preferred opponent.
The interviewer then asked whether he would rather fight social media critic VeryDarkMan, popularly known as VDM, considering their previous exchanges.
However, Portable dismissed the suggestion and insisted that Terry G remained the only celebrity he wanted to fight.
According to him, a boxing contest between both singers would attract massive public attention and restore Terry G’s relevance in the entertainment industry.
“It is Terry G that I want to fight. I will blow him. I want to resurrect his career. If Terry G fights me one-on-one in boxing, I swear to God, he will rise again. People will remember him again,” Portable said.
Portable’s remarks quickly attracted attention online, with many fans debating whether Terry G would accept the challenge.
