An evangelist and general overseer of a Pentecostal church, Favour Ezani, has been detained by Anambra police for allegedly impr3gnating a sixteen-year-old girl who was brought to his home in the commercial town of Nnewi, Anambra, for prayers and healing.
According to the Tribune, Miss Precious Okafor, the victim, was brought to the self-described man of God’s home in the Amichi community in the Nnewi South local government area for spiritual healing. Men from the state government’s Special Anti-Touting Squad (SASA), a security unit, detained the suspect, who identified himself as the General Overseer of a nearby Pentecostal church.
Evang Favour Ezani acknowledged committing the crime. In order to avoid public humiliation, he also admitted to combining bitter leaf with other herbs to help the girl end the pregnancy.
He begged the security guards to tamper with justice with mercy, offering to pay the girl’s medical expenses if she was set free.
The victim was given to the suspect for special deliverance by her aunt before the incident, according to a security guard from Igboukwu, a nearby community, who brought the report, according to Karen James, spokesperson for the security group.
According to her, the aforementioned aunt found out that the victim was expecting, and during questioning, the victim revealed the name of the evangelist who is presently being held by the police.
The victim described her ordeal, saying that the unpleasant incident began in November 2025 when the suspect had $3x with her soon after she arrived at his home for the special deliverance that her aunt had requested.
The victim claims that the suspect used a threat to get her pregnant! Let her know if she disclosed the immoral deed.
“Daddy Ezani started having forceful s#x with me a few days after I arrived in his house for the special deliverance. I was handed over to him by my aunt to deliver me from stubbornness without the consent of my mother who resides in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. It was my aunt who consulted Daddy Ezani about my behavior after I relocated back to the village from Lagos and in response, Daddy Ezani told them that I came from the even seas of the world, hence, I need urgent and special deliverance from God to be free.”
He has slept with me countless times inside his church, farm, and residence before the rescue came. I don’t know my father but my mother is living in Port Harcourt. I am an indigene of Amichi and urgently need help.
As I speak to you now, blood is coming out from my private part as a result of the mixed concoctions Daddy Ezani gave me to drink to abort the pregnancy. I have no money to go to the hospital for proper treatment.”she said
