Oyo college bans dreadlocks and indecent dressing then sets up task force to sanction erring students

The task force committee at Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora, has been formed to enforce proper clothing in the university.

Wasiu Raheem, the institution’s Dean of Students’ Affairs, made the announcement on Tuesday, November 2.

The committee was formed, according to the Dean of Students’ Affairs, to guarantee that students follow the institution’s dress code.

He went on to say that the committee’s job is to propose suitable punishments for pupils who make mistakes.

He urged the institution’s pupils to follow the rules and regulations to the letter.

Head of the task force, Olubunmi Adeosun, while speaking, said that the committee has been moving around the lecture halls of the institution in order to identify students who did not comply with the dress code.

She enjoined students to check the students’ handbooks to know what constitutes immoral behaviour in the institution.

She said: “The ten-man committee had earlier held a stakeholders meeting at the boardroom of the college where what constitute immoral behaviour were extensively discussed.”

Adeosun said erring students would be sanctioned, adding that the institution will no longer allow students with dreadlocks and other forms of indecent appearance.
