Today, September 28, Harrison Anazodo, General Overseer of Dayspring Assembly, Awada, Obosi, was arraigned before Justice Jude Obiora of the Anambra State High Court in Awka on a seven-count charge that included allegedly encouraging the accumulation of wealth through supernatural means, which was prohibited by the Anambra State Homeland Security Law 2025, as well as murder, abduction, and the unlawful separation and isolation of people from their homes.
After the clergyman was arrested in June 2025, the Anambra state government dragged him before the court.
The court claims that the alleged offenses took place between 2000 and 2025.
The defendant entered a not guilty plea to each of the seven counts after being brought to court from Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital in Awka.
W. O. Abonyi, the defendant’s attorney, then filed a bail application.
Prosecution attorney C. V. Ononye, however, objected to the application, claiming that the prosecution had not received enough information or notice to reply.
The defendant had reportedly spent three weeks in the intensive care unit of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital. The court ordered that he be returned to the hospital while taking his health into consideration.
In order to hear the bail application and conduct additional proceedings, the court postponed the case until October 12, 2026.
