A Nigerian woman revealed how she left a four-year relationship with a man who helped her pay for college, only to learn later that she had made a terrible error.
She disclosed in a widely shared video on X (previously Twitter) that she met him in her 200 level and that he supported her all the way through to graduation.
He gave her a monthly allowance, purchased her phones, and covered her school expenses when money was tight.
Her only complaint, she said, was that he never discussed marriage, and as graduation drew near, pressure to get married started to impair her judgement.

“He was never perfect, but he was consistent. Instead of sitting him down to ask about marriage, I started feeling like he was using me, even though he had always been there for me.”
Following a friend’s advice, she lied about her genotype to make an excuse to break up with him after graduation.
She then went on to another man who openly discussed marriage and promised her a future overseas.
“I told him I was AS so that we wouldn’t be compatible, even though I’m AA. I later found out the man I left him for was married and had lied about everything, and now I don’t know how to explain the truth.”
Many claim that she let peer pressure and opinions affect her choice.
Others think that before it was too late, open communication could have rescued the relationship.
She is now filled with sorrow and confronted with the agonising possibility that she may have lost out on something genuine because she just pursued what sounded nice.
