The Anambra State Police Command has appealed to residents to remain calm following the circulation of a disturbing viral video showing two young women allegedly a$$aulting another girl in Umueri, Anambra State.

In a statement, the command’s spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the arrest of one suspect identified as Chidimma Ogugua, aged 19, who is currently in police custody. He added that efforts are ongoing to apprehend the second suspect who reportedly fled.

According to preliminary investigations, the victim was allegedly subjected to physical abuse following a disagreement. The police condemned the incident, describing it as cruel, inhuman, and a violation of the law.

The command also urged members of the public with useful information that could assist the investigation or lead to the arrest of the fleeing suspect to come forward, assuring that all information provided would be treated confidentially.
