Ondo air crash pilot d!es two weeks after his wedding

Two weeks prior to the accident, Squadron Leader Ahamefule Aham Man-Ugwueje, one of the pilots of the Nigerian Air Force ATR-42 aircraft, NAF 931, which crashed in Igbokoda, Ondo State, on Monday, was married in a lavish ceremony in Abuja.

On Monday, October 5, 2026, the aircraft, carrying 20 passengers and five crew members, crashed during a routine flight from Benin to Lagos.

The names of the 25 victims were made public by the Nigerian Air Force on Tuesday, October 6.

On September 19, 2026, Man-Ugwueje married Flight Lieutenant Damilola Adekunle.

The Redeemed Christian Church of God, The Masters Place, Plot 826, Solomon Lar Way, which is located across from the NHIS Headquarters/Customary Court of Appeal in Utako, Abuja, hosted the couple’s Holy Matrimony.

The Nigerian Army Conference Center, located at Km 10 Expressway in Asokoro, Abuja, hosted the reception.
