Earlier, GistReel stated that the actor died on May 11, 2026, at Evercare Hospital in Lagos.
His family released a statement indicating that he passed away due to complications from severe metastatic renal cancer.

Maltida, also known as Iya Ibadan, a popular female admirer, passed away, as reported in a lengthy Instagram tribute.

The tribute expressed sympathy to her family, loved ones, and those affected by her death.
According to the message, Matilda died unexpectedly on her way home.
