According to a report by Daily Post on Sunday, Aug 9, 2026, the fiancé of late Nollywood actress Temitope Osoba, Prophet Itunu Onadeko, has spoken publicly for the first time about the circumstances surrounding her death, claiming that the actress died at a police station in Ikorodu, Lagos State, and not from breast cancer as widely believed.

Onadeko made the claim during a recent interview in which he addressed the growing speculation that has followed the actress’s death. According to him, Osoba’s previous battle with breast cancer was not the cause of her passing.

The actress, who died at the age of 40, had openly discussed her health struggles in the past and had received support from colleagues and members of the public during her treatment. Following news of her death, many social media users assumed that the illness had returned or worsened.

However, Onadeko rejected that narrative, saying the information he received pointed to a different situation entirely.

“In my own understanding, Temitope did not die from cancer,” he said. “I received a call around midnight from someone who informed me that she had died at a police station in Ikorodu.”

The cleric also dismissed a number of rumours that have circulated online since the actress’s death. He denied claims that Osoba had been poisoned, neglected, or abandoned during her final days. He further insisted that donations previously raised for her cancer treatment were properly used and were not diverted.

Addressing another allegation, Onadeko said reports suggesting that Osoba had been prevented from driving were untrue. According to him, she was capable of driving and had driven herself to Iperu not long before her death.

He also refuted claims that the actress suffered any form of abuse or degrading treatment before she died. In particular, he described as false reports alleging that she was subjected to humiliating punishment involving faeces or urine.

The conflicting accounts surrounding Osoba’s death have generated significant public interest, especially given her prominence in the Yoruba film industry.

Temitope Osoba was known for her roles in several Yoruba-language films and television productions and remained a familiar face in Nollywood despite her health challenges. Her death has prompted an outpouring of grief from colleagues, friends and fans, many of whom continue to call for clarity over the circumstances surrounding her passing.
