Nigeria’s Flamingos defeat Germany to clinch Bronze in FIFA U17 Women World Cup

In order to win a consoling bronze medal in the FIFA U-17 World Cup in India, Nigeria’s Flamingos overcame Germany.

Following an exciting 3-3 draw in normal time in the third-place match on Sunday, October 30, the Nigerian women overcame Germany 3-2 on penalties at the DY Patil Stadium.

Before Germany rallied from a goal down to tie the game, the Flamingos got off to a strong start, scoring three goals.

The first goal was scored by Opeyemi Ajakaye in the 20th minute, while the second was scored by Aminat Bello in the 48th. After Germany responded with three goals to force extra time and penalties, Etim Edidiong scored the third goal in the 63rd minute.
