Nigerian man Ichie Uzochukwu has shared his perspective on why men often caution one another against getting involved with married women.

According to him, many men discourage the act not necessarily out of respect for marriage as an institution, but because they see it as disrespectful to another man.

He further questioned why the same level of criticism is rarely directed at women who knowingly engage in relationships with married men, commonly referred to as side chicks.

“Unpopular opinion. The main reason many men advise other men against sleeping with married women is not necessarily because they respect the institution of marriage, but because they see it as disrespecting another man, the woman’s husband, who happens to be their fellow man,” he wrote in a Facebook post. 

“If there were no husband involved, many of them likely wouldn’t see it as such a serious issue. 

“After all, how often do you see men passionately preaching to side chicks to stop sleeping with married men?.”
