Abayomi Babatunde Ogunremi, a DJ from Nigeria, was detained for allegedly overstaying in India. He is 31 years old.
Babatunde, also known as DJ Echo Buzz, has been a resident of Yeolewadi in Pune, Maharashtra, and a DJ at well-known bars.
On Friday, October 21, the Pune City Police, Military Intelligence (MI), Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), and federal intelligence services worked together to detain Babatunde, who had entered India on a student visa a few years prior.
The squad from Mundhwa police station, led by Assistant Police Inspector Vilas Sutar, apprehended Babatunde from Drunk’n Panda at Kapila Matrix on North Main Road close to ABC Farm, Koregaon Park, after receiving information from the agencies.
He does not have a passport or visa document, police said.
