An All Progressives Congress (APC) supporter has sparked reactions on social media after claiming that Nigeria could collapse if President Bola Ahmed Tinubu fails to secure re-election in the 2027 presidential election.
The supporter made the statement in a viral video while appealing to Nigerians, particularly youths and parents, to support Tinubu’s bid to remain in office beyond 2027.
Supporter Makes Prediction About Nigeria’s Future
Speaking about the forthcoming presidential election, the APC supporter argued that Tinubu’s return to office was crucial to the country’s survival and long-term development.
According to him, the president is working to establish a solid foundation that would benefit future generations of Nigerians.
He said, “And to be candid with you, if Mr. President, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is not elected to return, there will not be Nigeria. Nigeria will collapse.”
The statement has attracted attention because of the strong prediction about the country’s future should the president fail to win another term.
Atiku, Peter Obi Also Criticised
During his appeal, the APC supporter also criticised prominent opposition figures, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi.
He described the politicians as “looters” and urged Nigerians to examine their records before deciding who to support in the 2027 election.
However, his allegations against the opposition figures were not substantiated in the remarks provided.
Statement Sparks Political Debate
The comments have added to the growing political conversations surrounding the 2027 general election, with political supporters increasingly making appeals for their preferred candidates.
The controversy also highlights the sharp divisions among Nigerians over the country’s leadership, economic direction and the performance of the current administration.
While the APC supporter expressed confidence in Tinubu’s leadership, his claim that Nigeria would collapse if the president lost the election remains his personal prediction rather than an established fact.
