“Nigeria is becoming difficult to survive in” — Nedu Wazobia laments economic hardship

Nigerian media personality Nedu Wazobia has bemoaned the growing expense of living and financial strains that Nigerians face, claiming that the nation is getting harder to live in.

Nedu stated in a statement that individuals of all ages are impacted by the situation, especially parents and young people attempting to plan for the future.

“Nigeria is not just expensive anymore. Nigeria is becoming difficult to survive in. If you are a father, a mother or a young person trying to make something out of yourself, you already know what I’m talking about.”

According to him, a lot of workers now discover that their pay is swiftly depleted by necessary expenses, sometimes even before the new month has officially started.

“You go work, you go collect salary and somehow the money go disappear even before the month start, even before you reach house.”

Rent, school fees, food, transport and fuel are just a few of the financial strains that families face, according to Nedu. He also mentioned the expense of healthcare as an additional stress.

“Those wey be mama and papa, house rent dey, school fees dey, food money dey. Transport fare, fuel and not to even talk about healthcare wey Lasisi talk about the other day.”

He claims that the ongoing price increases indicate a decrease in the purchasing power of people’s incomes.

“Everything keeps going up but the money in our pockets keep buying less.”

He also voiced concern that some people were becoming desperate due to economic hardship and were being forced to do things they might not have otherwise done.

“While Nigerians are struggling with the economy, we are also dealing with insecurity…”
