NAF Airstrikes Wipe Out Top Boko Haram Commanders in Bama

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai, with aerial support from the Nigerian Army and the Nigerian Air Force, have dealt a major setback to Boko Haram following coordinated airstrikes in Bama Local Government Area of Borno State.

Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the strikes were carried out on December 25, 2025, after credible human intelligence revealed the movement and gathering of senior Boko Haram elements in the area.

According to the sources, at least 10 terrorists were killed in the first wave of the air operation.

“Those neutralised were identified as Abul Kaka, Ibn Mu’azu, Abu Muhammad, Ba Alhaji, Bakura, Modu, Abu Hassan, Kaka Alai, Abba Yakariye and Bamusa.

The sources further disclosed that another fighter, identified as Ubaida, sustained severe injuries during the initial strike.

They added that a follow-up operation by Nigerian Air Force platforms led to the immediate killing of three more terrorists who attempted to regroup after the first bombardment.

Security officials confirmed that most of the eliminated fighters were loyalists of Bafu, a notorious Boko Haram commander known to operate within the Bama axis.

A post-operation assessment indicated that the sustained air campaign significantly weakened Boko Haram’s operational strength in the area, particularly factions under Bafu’s command.

The sources noted that while the situation in Bama is presently calm, security forces remain cautious, stressing that the area remains unpredictable due to the fluid and adaptive nature of insurgent activities.
