A Nigerian nurse told a devastating story from her place of employment about a guy who, after 14 years of waiting, lost both his wife and child during delivery.
The nurse, who went by @paucia on X (previously Twitter), explained how the husband stood outside the labour unit and prayed passionately.
In the belief that his long-awaited desire was finally coming true, he expressed his excitement and appreciation to God after more than ten years of wishing for a kid.
Sadly, his wife and newborn had already died during delivery while the husband was praying.
The nurse described the incident as extremely taxing because she was watching him without knowing the terrible news he was going to hear.
The nurse was profoundly impacted by the occurrence and described it as the most depressing day of her career.

“Watching the husband pray outside the labor ward meanwhile the wife and baby are already dead. He said: ‘Lord after 14 years you finally did it, complete it and put them to shame.’ God, I’m so heartbroken right now. Saddest day at work. I kept looking at him praying through the windows knowing he’s about to receive the worst news of his life. The joy in his prayers. Oh God.”
Online users soon took notice of the tale and expressed condolences for the bereaved husband.
