A woman has sparked widespread reactions on social media after claiming she discovered that her husband’s alleged side chick contributed almost ₦1 million to help him pay their family house rent during a difficult financial period.

In a viral video, the woman narrated how she allegedly found WhatsApp messages showing that the other woman sold one of her iPhones and one of her wigs to raise money for her husband.

She said the discovery left her shocked and questioning whether side chicks now help married men pay family bills.

According to her, she and her husband had been together for many years and built their lives from the ground up.

“When I met this man, he was very, very poor,” she said, adding that they struggled together until “the blessings of God” changed their situation.

She said: “As usual now, every African, or should I say 90% of African men will do this. When they start making money, that’s when they start to show you characters that you don’t understand.”

“I didn’t even know that things had gotten so bad for him until it was time to pay our rent and I saw the way he was struggling,” she said.

Explaining her decision, she said: “I have the money but I told him I don’t have because I don’t see any reason why I should be paying rent for our house when my husband is unfaithful.”

She continued: “Call me whatever you want to call me… Judge me if you want.”

“If at the end of the day this man cannot pay this rent, I’ll just take me and my kids to my parents’ house and start living with my parents,” she said.

“The love d!ed,” she said.

She said: “Although we’re still eating though. It’s not like there was no food to eat.”

“I just wanted to be curious,” she explained.

She said: “Apparently, the money that my husband got to pay our rent, it was the side chick that gave my husband about 70% of it.”

“This girl sold one of her iPhones and sold one of her wigs and gave it to my husband.”

“I thought side chicks were just there for the benefit. I thought side chicks were just there to enjoy.”

“Except maybe my husband has promised her marriage. That’s what I’m thinking.”

“Those of you that are side chicks, do you used to help your sugar daddies pay their bills?” she asked.
