“My enemies want to use insecurity to get rid of me, but I’m a very stubborn politician…”- Tinubu

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has claimed that he will not be removed from office due to the country’s mounting security concerns, claiming that insecurity will not derail his administration or his bid for a second term.

The President made the statement at a meeting with Plateau State Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang and other stakeholders.

Tinubu claimed that some people were attempting to exploit the country’s security situation to undermine his government.

He warned that such measures indirectly aided political opponents and outside forces fighting against his administration.

According to him, insecurity should not be used as a political weapon.

During the meeting, the President presented himself as a determined political figure who does not back down under pressure.

He stated:  “You are playing to the hand of agents, including my own enemies, who want to use insecurity to get rid of me. “I’m a very stubborn politician. I just refuse to go. And I will campaign for my second term.”

Tinubu also insisted on remaining focused in the face of criticism about the country’s security condition.

The President has openly said that he intends to seek re-election in 2027 and will actively campaign for a second term.

His remarks came amid ongoing concerns about insecurity in numerous sections of Nigeria, including armed group attacks, kidnappings, and other violent acts.

Opposition figures and civil society organisations have frequently urged the federal government to take bolder and more effective measures to solve the problem.

Despite criticism, the Tinubu administration has repeatedly defended its handling of security issues.
