Mrs. Tilewa Olatunde Funke, a 42-year-old married woman who was previously declared missing, was discovered in a hotel room in Ondo State with a 55-year-old man named as Isa Alaba.
According to sources, the woman departed Ilara-Mokin for Akure around 10 a.m. on Friday, April 3, 2026, but was unable to be reached subsequently because her phone was turned off.
Her sudden disappearance sparked worry among family members and residents, prompting a search operation involving security personnel.Family
She was later found in a hotel in the Ugbe-Akoko area, around 124 kilometres from Ilara-Mokin.
A source revealed, “She was not abd¥cted as initially feared. She left on her own without informing anyone and was later found with the man in the hotel.”
Confirming the occurrence, DSP Jimoh Abayomi, the Police Public Relations Officer, advised the public not to propagate unsubstantiated information or cause panic.
“This situation created avoidable alarm and diverted resources meant for real emergencies,” he said.
DSP Abayomi also emphasised the importance of better communication among families, pointing out that many comparable incidents might be resolved via dialogue rather than growing into general worry.
