Man suspected of facilitating sale of wife?s s3xual services to over 100 men

A man in northern Sweden is being investigated for allegedly assisting more than 100 men in purchasing $.£xual services from his wife, according to a prosecutor.

Under Swedish law, buying $3x is illegal, but selling sexual services is not.

The suspect, a man in his 60s, was arrested in late October after his wife reported him to the authorities. He has been in custody since his arrest. Prosecutor Ida Annerstedt stated that he is suspected of facilitating or profiting financially from the woman’s $.£xual services.

He was remanded on suspicion of “procuring,” a crime that involves promoting or profiting from another person’s prostitution. Authorities believe the alleged activities took place between January 2022 and his arrest last year.

Annerstedt stated that investigators are also looking into other possible offenses, but declined to provide further information due to the ongoing investigation. She also declined to say whether the woman, who is in her fifties, was coerced.

According to the prosecutor, about 120 individuals suspected of purchasing $.£xual services have been identified. However, it is unlikely that all will be investigated as part of the primary case. Separate inquiries into the alleged buyers may follow once the main proceedings conclude.

The suspect has denied the allegations. Swedish public broadcaster SVT reported that he has prior convictions, including a$$ault and unlawful coercion.
