“Learn to leave main character syndrome at home” – Mofe Duncan, Latasha Ngwube knock Daddy Freeze over criticism of Alexx Ekubo’s tribute event

Mofe Duncan and Latasha Ngwube have publicly criticized Daddy Freeze over his remarks about the “Night of Worship” organized in honour of late actor Alexx Ekubo.

The controversy began after Daddy Freeze shared a video on social media criticizing gospel singer Mercy Chinwo’s performance during the service of songs. He argued that the event, which was meant to be a solemn memorial gathering, took on the atmosphere of a concert due to the choice of upbeat worship songs.

Daddy Freeze also questioned why several guest artists were invited to lead worship sessions, insisting that memorial services are traditionally centred on hymns and reflective music to maintain a calm and respectful mood.

Responding on Instagram, Mofe Duncan and Latasha Ngwube strongly disagreed with his comments, defending the worship event and its organizers. Both maintained that the tribute was a celebration of Alexx Ekubo’s life and faith, and that attendees had the right to honour him in a manner they considered meaningful and appropriate.
