Lady amazed as kind-hearted man returns her lost phone after losing his own the previous week

A Nigerian woman has shared a heartwarming experience after a stranger returned her phone after she lost it while heading to church in Lagos.

In a video shared on X, formerly Twitter, the woman expressed surprise at the man’s honesty, explaining that she only realised her phone was missing shortly after alighting from a car.

Stranger Answers Call and Returns Phone

According to her, she immediately called her number after discovering that the phone was missing.

To her surprise, a man who had found the phone answered the call and asked her to come to his location to collect it.

“I just lost my phone, I was going to church and when I got down from the car, I started looking for my phone. It was like a movie, and I started calling the number, and this guy picked it up and said I should come and meet him where he is,” she recounted.

The woman said she was particularly impressed after learning that the man himself had lost his phone the previous week.

‘He Doesn’t Even Have a Phone’

According to her, the person who found the man’s phone previously had refused to return it.

Despite not having a phone of his own, however, the man chose to return hers.

“This guy also lost his phone last week, and the person that picked it up didn’t return it. He doesn’t even have a phone and yet he returned my phone back to me. He’s kind. I’m so surprised that we still have nice, good people in our country,” she added.

The experience, she said, reminded her of the importance of not repaying wrongdoing with wrongdoing, noting that the man could have decided to keep her phone because someone had previously kept his.

She expressed appreciation for his honesty and kindness, while also praising people from Kogi State.

The story has sparked positive reactions online, with many Nigerians celebrating the stranger’s decision to return the phone despite his own previous experience of losing one.
