KIDNAPPERS ENGAGE IN MESSY GUN BATTLE WITH POLICE IN RIVERS

Nigeria as a country has been ranked in the global index as one of the worst place to dwell in because of frequent kidnapping incident. Despite the fact that kidnapping is as old as human history itself, yet its widespread in the current administration is quite alarming and calls for a proactive solution in order to make Nigeria a safe place to live.
Kidnapping has now become a generic word both in public and private discuss going by its prevalence in the country.
The law caught up with a group of kidnappers in Rivers State as a team of policemen attached to the Rivers State Police Command on Monday shot dead a suspected kidnapper during a gun battle in Rumuodogo, in the Emuoha Local Government Area of the state.
The policemen, who were said to have acted on intelligence, also rescued two kidnap victims, who were abducted along the East-West Road on April 30, 2019.
It was gathered that the victims were abducted while on their way from Warri in Delta State to Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Nnamdi Omoni, who spoke with Southern City News about the incident, specifically mentioned that the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the State Police Command had stormed a forest in Rumuodogo in Emohua LGA and engaged the hoodlums in a shootout.
Omoni, who described the rescued victims as two young ladies, explained that they were rescued unhurt after the exchange of gunfire between the police and the bandits.
Kidnapping as we all know is an illicit incident through which a human-being is forcefully abducted to an unknown area against his/her will by another human-being because of reasons best known to them.
