On April 22, Aisha Yahaya, a 300-level female student in the Food and Science Technology Department of Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology in Wudil, Kano, was discovered dead in her flat off campus.
During the school’s continuing first-semester exam, Yahaya was reported to have completed her first exam and gone to her room, where she was discovered dead. Although the exact reason of her death is unknown, some of her coworkers speculate that test pressure may have had a role.
In a statement that confirmed the tragedy, the school lamented her passing and asked for her soul to rest.
Yahaya was been buried in accordance with Islamic customs.
Confirming the incident, the school in a statement released, expressed sadness over her death and prayed for the repose of her soul.
Yahaya has since been buried according to Islamic rites.
