Judy Austin Fires Back at Ex-husband, Vows Court Action

Actress, Judy Austin, has vowed to take legal action against her ex-husband, Emmanuel Obasi, following a series of allegations he made against her and her husband, actor Yul Edochie.

Obasi made the claims during an interview on The Honest Bunch Podcast earlier in the week, alleging that Austin’s relationship with Edochie contributed to the collapse of their marriage and his separation from his children.

The actress’s former husband claimed that Austin became interested in Edochie while they were still married. He also made several other allegations, which he said ultimately led to the end of their relationship.

According to Obasi, Austin often spoke highly of Edochie during their marriage.

“Any time we were watching television and Yul Edochie appeared, Judy Austin would no longer be concentrating. She would tell me, ‘I love this man,’ though not directly in that manner. She would praise him and say his voice sounded like her uncle, Chinedu, and that was why she liked him,” he said.

Obasi further alleged that Austin once informed him that she had met Edochie, who allegedly offered to become a family friend and assist him financially, an offer he claimed he rejected.

Following the circulation of clips from the interview on social media, Austin responded in a video, dismissing the allegations and insisting that the matter would be addressed in court.

She stated that she first met Edochie on a movie set in 2016, which she claimed was three years after her marriage to Obasi had ended. According to her, actor Sylvester Madu encouraged her to pursue acting.

Austin accused her former husband of lying and using Edochie’s name for publicity.

“You’ve been bought over to come and destroy my name,” she said, while also denying claims that she prevented him from having access to his children.

Reacting to the controversy, actress, Shan George, urged the public to stop judging the couple and move on.

“If you’re still dragging Yul and Judy after all these years and three children later, it means you’re playing God or you have another agenda. What has happened has happened. Leave the rest to God,” she wrote on social media.

Edochie also responded to the allegations, denying claims that he had prevented Obasi from seeing his children.

He wrote, “Some of my fans have reached out to me saying, ‘Please allow him to see his children.’ I have never stopped anybody from seeing his children.

“In this era of social media, people prefer chasing clout and making money from my name rather than doing the right thing. If he wants to see or take his children, he should speak with his ex-wife. He has her number. It has nothing to do with me.”
