“It was staged” – GehGeh breaks silence says viral wedding was a ‘publicity stunt’

Emmanuel Obruste, often known as GehGeh, is a content producer and relationship analyst. He has disclosed that the recent wedding ceremony that caused a lot of online backlash was actually a staged publicity ploy.

After videos from the event went viral and encouraged rumours that he had secretly gotten married, the social media star revealed this information in an interview with StreamRewind.

GehGeh claims that the event was planned as a sociological experiment and marketing effort to see how the public would respond.

“We organised everything as a normal promo. And so far, apart from the fact that we purposely did it, I still wanted to get the public’s reactions.”

Videos captured what seemed to be a wedding ceremony between GehGeh and a woman wearing matching traditional burgundy clothing.

Online reactions to the videos were swift, with many fans and other content producers accusing him of going against his long-held beliefs about marriage and relationships.

Addressing the criticism, GehGeh said many people had misunderstood the message behind what he calls the “GehGeh Wisdom and Knowledge University.”

He explained:

“Some people have a misunderstanding about my GehGeh Wisdom and Knowledge University. The major thing they have been saying is that GehGeh told them not to get married, but I got married.”

He insisted that while he has always supported polygamy over monogamy, he has never discouraged individuals from getting married.

In his words:

“I did not kick against marriage. I said, ‘Do not marry, and even if you must marry, go for polygamy.’ This is because polygamy is the path that guides a man’s heart from heartbreak.”

The content developer went on to say that a man is less likely to be emotionally manipulated by one woman if he has several marriages.

He added:

“Because when you are with different women, it will be hard for one woman to manipulate you. And this was what our forefathers practised. That is the core principle of my university.”

GehGeh’s clarification comes days after the viral wedding videos sparked intense debate on social media, with many questioning whether he had abandoned the relationship philosophy that has become central to his online personality.
