“I’m looking for 100k…” — Man reveals why he stopped sleeping over at people’s houses

A guy has stirred worldwide outrage by disclosing the childhood experience that led him to quit sleeping over at other people’s houses, explaining how a single incident permanently altered his outlook.

In a social media post, the man described visiting a wealthy friend who lived with his uncle after receiving an invitation to a sleepover. According to him, things appeared normal till the following morning when his friend’s uncle stated that ₦100,000 went missing.

Although no one outright accused him of stealing the money, he claimed statements made around the house made him feel uneasy and singled out.

The man claimed that when he returned home, he told his father about the encounter, asking for comfort and reassurance.

The man said, “you left your comfort zone and went to their house, whatever they said you did, you did it.”

He stated that his father’s words lingered with him for years and radically transformed his perspective on spending the night in other people’s houses.

Later, he joked, “before I come your house come pass the night ehn, you go pour libation.”

The tweet sparked a flood of responses from social media users, many of whom shared similar stories of being wrongfully suspected or blamed when visiting friends or relatives.

Others believed the man’s father’s advice was a practical lesson about avoiding circumstances that could lead to needless suspicion, while others argued that the response was overly severe despite the useful message.

As the story continues to circulate online, it has generated questions about trust, personal limits, and the long-term impact of childhood experiences on adult decisions.
