Nollywood filmmaker and activist Stanley Ontop has thrown his support behind actress Queen Esther Udeh amid the ongoing dispute between her and fellow actress Destiny Etiko.

The controversy began after Esther spoke about an alleged experience she had while working with Destiny on a movie set.

During an appearance on the Where Is The Lie podcast, Esther claimed that Destiny warned her against coming close while filming her and allegedly threatened to seize her phone, discard it and slap her.

Esther later alleged that Destiny sent her a private message threatening legal action over her public comments. She subsequently shared what she described as evidence of the alleged communication.

Stanley weighs in on the controversy

Reacting to the development, Stanley defended Esther’s right to speak about her experience and questioned the decision to allegedly threaten her with legal action.

He said he had heard about the dispute and maintained that a crew member should be allowed to share her experience of working with another actor.

Stanley also referred to an alleged incident from several years ago involving Destiny and a makeup artist. He claimed he remembered the incident and also alleged that Destiny had previously embarrassed her personal assistant.

“What I will not tolerate is Destiny threatening a crew member with lawsuits in her DM. I remember vividly, five years ago on set, Destiny slapped a makeup artist, and I know how we handled that situation then.

“She always embarrassed her PA. Just so you know, if you take any legal action or arrest Queen Esther, I will stand with her and support her.”

Filmmaker challenges both sides to settle dispute

Stanley said he would support Esther if legal action were taken against her over the matter.

He also challenged Destiny to consider resolving the disagreement through their work in the movie industry rather than allowing the dispute to continue publicly.

The filmmaker’s comments have added another dimension to the controversy, with social media users debating the allegations, the right of actors and crew members to discuss their experiences on set, and the appropriate way to handle disputes within the entertainment industry.
