Pete Edochie, a veteran Nollywood actor, has caused debate online after posting his thoughts on who should handle expenditures on a date.
According to the acclaimed actor, a man who invites a woman out should be financially prepared to cover all expenses, including transportation.
Speaking about the situation, the Nollywood veteran emphasised that the woman should not be asked to pay for anything because she did not instigate the encounter.

“If you invite a girl out on a date, you must take responsibility for whatever she does, including transportation and other expenses. She is not the one who decided to pay you a visit on her own; you are the one who invited her.”
Edochie insisted that the woman should face no financial responsibility during the outing because the invitation came from a guy.
His words have generated debate on social media, with many users expressing opposing views on dating expectations and financial responsibility in modern partnerships.
While some individuals agreed with him, reasoning that the person who invited should naturally bear the bills, others emphasised that dating in today’s environment requires shared responsibility from both partners.
