“If Peter Obi doesn’t get ADC ticket, he should come back to Labour; I’ll support him” – Datti

Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, the Labour Party’s former vice-presidential candidate, says he has a solid relationship with Peter Obi and is still willing to help him politically. He revealed this during a recent interview.

It should be noted that a few days ago, Datti Yusuf expressed his desire to run for president under the Labour Party after Peter Obi departed for ADC.

Despite running for vice president in the previous election, he stated why he wanted to run for president.

While speaking lately, he stated that despite being members of different parties, he and Peter Obi maintain a strong friendship.

Datti indicated that if Obi is unable to acquire the African Democratic Congress’ (ADC) presidential ticket, he will welcome him back to the Labour Party and support his candidature.

He also stated that Obi did not inform him about his shift to the ADC, implying that Obi likely realised he would not defect with him.

“Me and Mr Peter Obi have solid relationship. If Peter Obi doesn’t get the ticket in ADC, he should come back to the Labour Party, I will back him to get the ticket even though he did not tell me anything about the ADC party because he knew I will not join.”
