Chidera Adiele has spoken about being sexually abused by three of her uncles while growing up under her father’s roof, saying her parents failed to notice what was happening to her for several years.

Adiele made the disclosure during an interview on the Talk to B Podcast, where she reflected on her childhood experience and how long the abuse continued without her parents becoming aware of it.

According to her, the abuse did not happen once or twice. She said it involved three different uncles and happened on several occasions, beginning when she was about six or seven years old and continuing until she was 13.

Adiele said she believed her parents might have discovered what was happening if they had paid closer attention to her during those years.

She explained that she only recently told her parents about the abuse. According to her, her mother reacted with surprise when she shared what had happened.

Adiele expressed disappointment that her parents did not notice the signs earlier, saying the situation had continued for years before she eventually opened up about it.

She, however, acknowledged that nothing could change what had already happened, adding that she could only speak about the experience now.

In her words, “If they were even paying attention, they would have found out because it wasn’t once or twice; it was three different uncles, on several occasions. It wasn’t a one-time thing. It was constant from when I was 6 going to 7 till I was 13.”
