“I will no longer be discussing my encounters online” — Apostle Arome Osayi

Apostle Arome Osayi, founder of Remnant Christian Network (RCN), has said he will no longer share his spiritual encounters online after facing criticism for claiming to have seen Jesus Christ, angels and other supernatural experiences.

The cleric made the statement in a video circulating on social media, explaining that some people had accused him of using his alleged encounters to showcase his spirituality.

Osayi, however, insisted that his experiences were authentic, stating that encountering angels is part of his calling and not something he could simply stop.

“I’ve decided that I will no longer be discussing my encounters online because people believe that I’m advertising my spirituality, that he’s saying that he sees angels. I see them almost every day. You cannot use the Bible to contradict that kind of encounter,” he said.

Defending his stance, the preacher argued that people in the Bible who had a close relationship with God also had encounters with angels.

“People that were right with God in the Bible, they saw angels. I see them. It’s part of my calling,” he added.

He also insisted that choosing not to talk about the experiences publicly does not mean they have stopped occurring.

“There’s no way you’d think that I would say, okay, I don’t see them again. No. I have seen some things in heaven,” Osayi said.

The cleric also hinted at future events he claimed to have foreseen, noting that some of his revelations are yet to be fulfilled.

“I will tell you some that have not yet come to pass, so that when it happens, you will know that I told you,” he stated.

Osayi went on to warn that some people would be displaced in the coming days, saying it would be as a result of their failure to devote themselves to God.

“You are going to see in the days to come, people that will be displaced. The reason for the displacement is because of a refusal to consecrate themselves to God,” he said.

The development comes after weeks of controversy trailing the preacher, whose claims of supernatural encounters have drawn criticism from social media users, entertainers and fellow clerics.

One of the videos that sparked widespread reactions showed Osayi narrating what he described as an encounter with Jesus during a visit to a beach in Tanzania.

In his account, he said he asked Jesus for the power to raise the dead and reverse autism. He claimed Jesus told him to send ₦5 million to a pastor in exchange for the powers.

Osayi also alleged that during a later church ministration, an angel touched him on the head, after which five people who were unable to walk got up and walked.

The account, which resurfaced on social media in September 2026, raised questions about the credibility of his claims and the circumstances around the alleged instruction to transfer the money.

The controversy deepened after Nigerian singer Skales questioned the preacher’s claims in a post on X on October 4, 2026.

Reacting to a viral video in which Osayi described being taken to heaven and meeting Jesus alongside 13 other people, Skales wrote: “Something has to be done to regulate this folks… they are making the gospel look like a joke… people actually believe this lies?”

Pastor Abel Damina also faulted Osayi’s accounts, questioning their biblical foundation and expressing concern over some details in the testimonies.

Damina spoke on the issue during a church service on October 8, 2026, after receiving messages from people urging him to respond to the videos.

More recently, veteran Nollywood actor Kanayo O. Kanayo weighed into the debate, openly questioning Osayi’s claims about visiting heaven in a video shared on Instagram on October 19.

Despite the backlash, Osayi has continued to stand by his spiritual experiences, insisting that his decision to stop speaking about them publicly should not be taken as a denial of what he claims to have witnessed.
