A woman has generated outrage online after detailing how she allegedly outwitted a self-proclaimed “freelance prophet” who demanded her diamond wedding ring as a spiritual seed in exchange for her husband’s promotion.

According to the woman’s testimony, the prophet, who is described as her husband’s childhood buddy, came over for dinner before abruptly claiming to have received a supernatural revelation.

Midway through the lunch, he claimed that God wanted the wife to sacrifice her diamond wedding ring to his ministry in order for her husband to be promoted.

The woman’s husband believed the prophecy and persuaded his wife to comply, promising her that they could always replace the ring. Without protest, she removed the ring and handed it to the guest.

The woman later narrated, “The spirit is speaking! The spirit says the car you drove to this house today has a generational curse, and you must hand over the keys to the wife of this house before 2:00 PM, or your legs will bend!”

According to her story, the prophet immediately became obviously terrified. Rather than reply to the purported prophecy, he dropped the diamond ring on the floor, gathered his luggage, and fled the house on foot, abandoning the vehicle in which he arrived.

The unique incident has sparked extensive discussion on social media, with many individuals characterising the woman’s response as witty, while others have questioned the story’s legitimacy.

The event has also sparked discussions about spiritual manipulation, with many readers emphasising the value of discernment when people claim to speak on God’s behalf, especially when it comes to money or important goods.
