A man has shared how a stranger restored his faith in honesty after returning the full ₦1.8 million he mistakenly transferred to an OPay account.
Recounting the experience, he explained that he initially feared the money was gone after discovering the error and being unable to reach the recipient.
According to him:
“I sent 1.8m to someone’s opay account by mistake.
I called the number it was switched off, i was already giving up. I called 30 minutes later the person picked and i pleaded with him to return it.
I said he should remove 100k and send the rest.
He sent back 1.8m,without removing anything from it.
I sent him 150k without thinking twice”
The story has sparked reactions online, with many people praising the recipient’s honesty and describing the gesture as a rare example of integrity in a time when such mistakes often lead to disputes.
