A Nigerian man has recounted how he allegedly discovered that his ex-girlfriend, Stephanie, used the ₦280,000 he gave her for her birthday to pay another man’s rent.

The man shared the story during an appearance on the Gistandjuice podcast, explaining that he had sacrificed money saved for his 200-level school fees to celebrate his girlfriend’s birthday.

According to him, Stephanie’s birthday was approaching, and he decided to make the occasion special despite his financial situation.

He claimed that he contributed ₦250,000 from his school fees savings and added another ₦30,000 from his monthly allowance, bringing the total amount to ₦280,000.

How He Allegedly Discovered What Happened

The man explained that days after celebrating Stephanie’s birthday, he went to play football with a friend at a five-a-side pitch.

After the game, the men reportedly began discussing the things their girlfriends had done for them.

During the conversation, one of the men disclosed that his girlfriend had paid his ₦260,000 rent after he faced the risk of eviction.

The narrator said he initially found the story difficult to believe until the man showed the group videos of his belongings being moved out of his house.

However, he claimed that his disbelief turned into shock when the man showed them pictures and videos of his girlfriend and he allegedly recognised Stephanie.

Man Claims Birthday Money Was Used to Pay Another Man’s Rent

According to the narrator, he realised that the woman who had paid the other man’s rent was allegedly his own girlfriend.

He further claimed that the ₦250,000 he had given Stephanie from his school fees savings, alongside the additional ₦30,000 from his allowance, was the same money she used to settle the other man’s rent.

The alleged discovery left him shocked, particularly because he had sacrificed money intended for his education to celebrate her birthday.

Reacting to the incident, the man expressed anger towards Stephanie and prayed that she would face divine punishment for her alleged actions.
