The devastating last WhatsApp chat of Maryam Agoro, a University of Lagos (UNILAG) graduate who died the day after her convocation, has gone viral online.
The social media chat revealed Maryam expressing her desire to attend the ceremony.

“I really wanted to attend the convocation today, but I’m not feeling well at all. I wish I could be there with you all…”
Since then, the message has caused her friends, classmates, and social media users who saw the screenshots to feel sadness and grief.
On Tuesday, January 20, 2026, UNILAG had the convocation event for the 2024–2025 school year.
Maryam allegedly took part in the convocation photo shoot, but she was unable to completely enjoy it due to her bad health.
Her friends and students were devastated when she tragically died the next morning, Wednesday, January 21, 2026.
Amah ThankGod, a classmate, posted the screenshots on TikTok under the handle @officialamah_t.
He wrote in his post that he was shocked and saddened by Maryam’s sudden passing.

“We had our convocation on the 20th and lost one of our coursemate the following morning. She died the next day, morning. I stumbled upon her last chat with one of us and even after doing convocation shoot.
I’m just speechless! If you know her, you know she isn’t the troublesome one. Her smile is charming and her heart is large! She’s a beautiful human. Shortly after congratulations, we get to only have you in our memories for now. Rest in peace Baby lawyer!”
Many social media users expressed regret and sent condolences to Maryam’s family and friends as soon as the post went viral.
