A Nigerian man has taken to social media to explain why he ended a friendship years ago over a $10,000 investment.

In a post shared on his X handle, @only1kai, he recounted how the incident occurred nearly three years ago after he invested in a cryptocurrency scheme.

According to him, the investment later collapsed, resulting in the loss of his funds.

Speaking on the incident, he said:

”The website disappeared along with my money.I reported it to the police, thinking that was the end”

The man explained that security operatives later launched an investigation into the matter.

During the investigation, authorities reportedly traced the funds to a cryptocurrency exchange and allegedly discovered that one of his friends was connected to the transaction.

Although he was eventually able to recover $6,000 of the money, he said the experience permanently damaged their relationship.

According to the account, despite pleas from the friend, he chose not to reconcile and decided to cut ties with him.

The story has since generated reactions online, with many social media users sharing differing opinions on friendship, trust, and financial dealings among close associates.
