“I need to thank the woman who gave me a chance to have one.” — Bride honours kidney donor at wedding

A woman has described the poignant moment when a bride abruptly left her husband at their wedding reception in remembrance of the stranger who had once saved her life.

According to the lady, guests initially assumed the bride had stepped away to adjust her dress or freshen up. Rather, she made her way through the throng to the final row of the reception hall, where an elderly woman was sitting by herself.

The bride knelt in front of the woman and gave her a firm embrace without uttering a word. The emotional reunion reportedly brought both of them to tears, while the music stopped and the party became silent.

The bride later took the microphone and explained why she had interrupted the party.

She said, “Before I celebrate the happiest day of my life, I need to thank the woman who gave me a chance to have one.”

The bride disclosed that none of her family members were qualified kidney donors and that she had experienced kidney failure two years prior. A total stranger offered to be tested after months of uncertainty, and it found out that they were a perfect match.

She clarified that the elderly woman seated quietly at the back of the hallway was that stranger.

Donors receive standing ovations from guests.
In an attempt to get the recognition she deserved, the bride revealed that she had invited the woman without disclosing the surprise she had planned.

The guests gave a long standing ovation when the groom approached and embraced the woman as well.

Since then, the heartwarming story has struck a chord with many social media users, who have praised the bride’s compassionate deed and described the narrative as a potent reminder of the transformative power of organ donation and selfless acts of kindness.
