A Nigerian man, Ebikedoumene Bonny Jeff, has expressed deep grief over the end of his marriage, revealing that he and his wife separated on what was meant to be their fifth wedding anniversary.

In a Facebook post shared on Saturday, August 8, 2026, Jeff disclosed that their marriage broke down after his wife vowed never to forgive him for being unfaithful. He also admitted that she was deeply hurt by an earlier decision during their relationship, when he asked her to terminate three pregnancies because of his financial struggles as a student.

According to Jeff, their love story began in 2008 in their village. They welcomed their daughter in 2011, after which he gained admission into the university.

He said his wife stood by him throughout his years of unemployment after graduating in 2015, paying household bills, supporting him financially, and praying tirelessly for his success while working at the Federal University, Otuoke.

Jeff explained that after he secured a job in 2019, they eventually got married on August 8, 2021. Although his wife became pregnant shortly after their wedding, they tragically lost the baby.

He said the loss of their child, coupled with his infidelity, marked the beginning of persistent problems in their marriage.

According to him, his wife gradually withdrew her love, affection, support, and submission, while repeatedly telling him she could never forgive him. He also alleged that she often threatened to end both his life and her own.

Despite years of apologising and trying to save the marriage, Jeff said they eventually agreed to separate, believing it was better than remaining in an unhappy relationship.

He, however, expressed gratitude for all the sacrifices she made throughout his life, describing her as his hero and praying that God rewards her.

He wrote:

“Life is a mystery: my love story so far… In 2008 i and my wife (Yinlayefa started dating in d village, everything was moving perfect.

“The love, the affection, the understanding. Very humble, so caring. She was a woman every man wish to marry. She was a wife material, very Sweet woman to be with.”

“So 2011 she gave me my priceless. After six month I left dem for school and she was taking care of my daughter in the village.

“After my year two second semester, she advised me not to come home again. That I should pay house at Yenagoa and I did so.

“We both moved to Yenagoa from the village and I always visited her every two weeks. We were full of life in the relationship.

“In 2015 I finished school & she got a job at federal university Otueke and she started taking care of the house (me & my priceless), paying all the bills, praying church to church for me to succeed in life with my credentials.

“In 2019, I finally got a job and we got married (August 8 2021). Immediately after the marriage she took in but unfortunately the child d!ed and everything in my marriage start getting unidentified issues.

“What are the issues I caused in the marriage? (1) she took in up to three times while i was in school and I asked her to remove dem bco life was not fair to m (2) I mistakenly follow another woman to her notice & she vowed not to forgive me in life.

“I begged her to forgive m for years but she refused….so its leads to no love, no affection, no submission, no support system as a wife. Punishment everyday and night. Nothing was working, the silence battle, she wanted to take her owned life.

“She no longer love me. ”I will k!ll u & kill mysef” These are strong words coming out from my wife’s mouth in daily basis, etc in d house for years till 2026.

“Today supposed to be our 5th marriage anniversary but we choose separation for future life. Nobody should d!e because of marriage & both parties are happy.

“Marriage is not a do or d!e affair. I pray for you today. May God almighty always protect & guild you, reward you plenty for all d sacrifices you have sacrificed in my life.

“You ll always be my Hero in my life time. My woman of my youth is no more with m together but life goes on. Today I am just left with memories.

“In the year 2026 all my efforts to build a family was shattered!!!.”
