Controversial Nigerian social media activist Verydarkman has shared a video of himself praying in China, shortly after criticising Apostle Osayi Arome over his comments about Nigeria’s role and development.
In the video, Verydarkman appeared to combine his earlier criticism of religious emphasis with a humorous reference to prayer, saying he had “exported” prayers to China and expressing optimism about positive developments for Nigeria.
“I have successfully exported prayers to China. Good news is coming our way. Trade by barter. Nigeria, the change is coming.”
VDM’s earlier clash with Apostle Arome
The video comes shortly after Verydarkman criticised Apostle Arome over remarks concerning Nigeria’s calling as a nation of revival.
Verydarkman had argued that while prayer and religious faith have their place, Nigeria also needs to place greater emphasis on innovation, creativity, technology and practical solutions to its developmental challenges.
He questioned what he regarded as an excessive focus on religious expectations at a time when other countries are making advances in science, engineering and technology.

Against that backdrop, Verydarkman’s latest video from China appeared to playfully combine his advocacy for technological development with the religious theme at the centre of his disagreement with Arome.
His reference to “trade by barter” appeared to suggest a humorous exchange — taking prayers to China while expecting positive developments to come back to Nigeria.
The activist did not provide further details about what he meant by “good news” or the specific changes he expects to see in Nigeria.
His latest post has nevertheless drawn attention online, with viewers linking the video to his recent exchange with Apostle Arome and discussing his contrasting use of prayer and his continued emphasis on innovation and development.
