A lady has sparked emotional reactions online after revealing how a close friend refused to return ₦500,000 she borrowed amid a financial hardship, saying that the money was a gift instead.

The woman requested ₦500,000 from a friend, stating that she needed it urgently and would reimburse it by an agreed-upon date. Rather than asking enquiries, the friend simply asked for her account number.People & Society

When the agreed-upon repayment date approached, the lady stated she contacted her buddy to keep her commitment and return the money. However, the response she received took her entirely by surprise.

Recounting the exchange, the woman said, “I can never borrow you money. It was a gift since you needed it”

She explained that the surprise act of generosity still makes her wonder what she did to earn such kindness, viewing it as a rare honour from someone she greatly admires.
