A Nigerian woman has generated outrage online after accusing her older sister of evicting their mother from her home due to a disagreement over their mother’s living circumstances.
The family feud allegedly began after their mother began comparing the sisters’ husbands everytime she visited the younger daughter.
‘She can’t care for her as I do.’
In a social media post, the younger daughter said that her mother lives with her older sister and her husband.
She claimed that each time their mother visited to see her and her husband’s wealth, she would return to her older sister’s home and bemoan the fact that they couldn’t give her the same standard of care.
“My sister and my mom have been having issues because of me. Each time my mom visits me and see how wealthy my husband and I are, she will go back to my sister’s house because she’s staying with her and her husband and quarrel with her that she can’t care for her the way I do,” she wrote.
The younger daughter explained that she could not just take their mother in because she and her husband had agreed before marriage that they would not allow anyone to live with them permanently.
The situation reportedly became tense when the older sister allegedly told their mother that if she preferred her younger daughter’s care, she should stay at her home.
“My husband and I agreed that when we marry we will not let anyone live with us, except the person will just visit and go back,” she stated.
Her husband would not be open to altering the arrangement, she continued.
When the older sister allegedly threw their mother out of the house, the situation apparently got worse.
Their mother reportedly phoned her younger daughter for assistance after being kicked out.
The younger daughter was unable to accommodate their mother because her husband had already returned home by the time the call arrived.
“I couldn’t do anything. I asked her to go to her cousin’s place till morning,” she wrote.
The cousin allegedly got in touch with her the next morning and told her that she didn’t have enough room to continue entertaining their mother.
Then, the younger daughter begged her older sister to accept and forgive their mother.
As the oldest daughter, she made a plea to her sister, claiming that it was her duty to take care of their mother even if others were unable to.
“How can a daughter be so heartless to her own mother?” she asked.
