In Niger State, a guy by the name of Chuks Ikenna killed himself after his girlfriend became pregnant by another man.
According to reports, the event happened on Thursday morning at his home in the Dwakoro neighborhood of Niger State’s Suleja LGA.

Ikenna, an auto technician, felt depressed when he learned that his fiancée had cheated on him and was pregnant, a resident named John Adeleye told Daily Trust.

He explained that the dead had made light-hearted comments about committing suicide, but that no one had taken him seriously.

Later, Ikenna’s body was discovered with a suicide note and an empty bottle of “otapiapia.”

He said; “Chuks found out his lover had cheated on him and was pregnant. He was devastated by the news. There was confusion over who the father was.

“He jokingly told people that he would kill himself because of the incident, but they never took him seriously. An empty bottle of otapiapia was found beside his corpse, as well as a suicide note.”

Efforts to get Ikenna’s reaction by the publication failed as she was said to be devastated by the incident.

A health worker at the Suleja General Hospital, who confirmed the incident said that his remains had been taken to the morgue.
