A Nigerian woman has ignited internet discussion after sharing a very emotional account about her 13-year marriage, explaining how she regularly cursed her spouse during difficult times in their relationship.

In a lengthy message on social media, the woman described how her husband had nothing when they first married.

According to her, things changed two years later, when he started making money and buying cars and land.

She stated that his attitude changed after he became wealthy, accusing him of ignoring his domestic responsibilities while acting nice to people outside.

The woman stated that the event left her emotionally tired and frustrated. She claimed that despite her husband’s improved financial situation, she frequently struggled to find money to feed him.

According to her, the tension drove her to begin casting curses on him during times of rage and heartache.

“When the whole trauma was too much, I started laying curses on him. With tears and heavy heart, each day he provoked me, I would lay curses on him.”

She claimed that her main prayer at the time was for his finances to fall, reducing his ego and lifestyle.

The woman further stated that shortly after the curses, her husband lost his job and struggled financially for almost three years, from 2020 to 2023.

During that time, she said she became the sole provider for the household while her husband remained unemployed.

She stated that the experience seemed to humble him and showed various flaws in their marriage.

She eventually admitted to attending a church she located online, where a female preacher allegedly taught her that her words had spiritual power.

She was encouraged to cease cursing her husband and instead pray for him.

She stated that she later began praying for her husband, and that his financial position improved shortly thereafter.

However, the woman claimed that some of his unpleasant tendencies have returned, particularly during conflicts.

When there are disagreements, she claims he stays out late, ignores her calls, and refuses to contribute money to household needs.

The woman reportedly detailed other incidences she described as “wickedness,” such as allegedly pushing her phone aside while removing his charger and refusing to wash one of her trousers while washing his own.

Frustrated by the situation, the woman stated that she had confronted her husband and informed him that if his behaviour continued, she would not hesitate to turn to God again.

She concluded her story by saying she told him he would “suffer till he dies” if he continues to mistreat her and their children.
