“He Walked Up to Me at a Wedding and Said He Wanted to Marry Me” – Lady recounts unexpected marriage proposal from a physically disabled man at wedding

A Nigerian lady has gone viral after recounting an emotional experience at a wedding, revealing that a physically disabled man unexpectedly approached her and expressed his desire to marry her.

Speaking in a video shared on X (formerly Twitter), the lady explained that she had gone all out to look her best for the occasion, never imagining the encounter that would later leave her overwhelmed.

According to her, she spent money on her hair, outfit, nails, lashes, shoes, and handbag before attending the event.

Narrating the incident, she said:

“I went to a wedding on Saturday. I was elegantly dressed. I did my hair, wore a very stylish outfit, fixed my nails, fixed my lashes, bought a new pair of shoes and a new bag. I went for the wedding.

At the reception hall, I was standing outside with some of the aso-ebi girls when this physically disabled guy walked up to me and told me that he likes me. I didn’t want to be rude because he’s also human, so I decided to give him audience.”

She said she was surprised when the man told her he wanted to marry her and questioned why he had chosen her out of all the women present at the event.

“He then said he wanted to marry me. I was like, of all the girls that are here, why me? Why did you choose me? The funny part was that I even wore my 18-carat, 4.5-gram gold bracelet. What did I do wrong? Upon all the sweet boys that came to the wedding,” she said.

Her video has since generated mixed reactions online. While some sympathised with her confusion over the unexpected proposal, others criticised her remarks, arguing that the man simply expressed his feelings respectfully and should not be mocked because of his disability.
