“He almost landed in trouble” – Lady recounts retired police officer’s alleged luggage swap scare at airport

A Nigerian lady has sparked concern online after recounting a disturbing story allegedly shared by her father’s friend, a retired police officer, about a luggage mix-up at the airport.

In a video posted on X, she explained that the retired officer travelled from Toronto to Abuja in February 2026 and took several precautions before the trip, including photographing his luggage and wrapping the handles with reflective tape for easier identification.

According to her, after arriving in Abuja, only one of his bags appeared at the baggage claim area. She alleged that another suitcase carrying his name tag was later presented to him, but the bag reportedly did not match his actual luggage.

Narrating the ordeal, she said:

“He always wraps his suitcase handles with bright reflective scotch tape every single trip so he can spot them easily. He photographed his luggage tags and his bags before check-in.”
